Education Connection Screenagers: Next Chapter: Uncovering Skills for Stress Resilience  

The Bellevue Schools Foundation and the Sammamish High School PTSA invite you to join us December 13th at 6:30pm, for a special screening of the new documentary Screenagers: Next chapter.

Filmmaker and physician Dr. Delaney Ruston takes the conversation around screens and teens to the next level with Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER: Uncovering Skills for Stress Resilience—a film that examines the science behind teen’s emotional challenges, the interplay of social media, and most importantly, what can be done in our schools and homes to help them build crucial skills to navigate stress, anxiety, and depression in our digital age.  The December 13th event will feature a screening of the 70-minute documentary.

College Student Panel
College students from BSD's Advanced Learning (previously the gifted) program discuss how to choose a college. We ask for a suggested donation of $5 for parents and $10 for non-Bellevue residents.

The panel will be joined by:
*Tina Neville, Yale graduate and CEO of Transcend Academy, on college entrance success factors
*Dr. Richard Repass, Psychiatrist and expert on student mental health and stress management.
*Moderated by Melissa Lloyd, Bellevue Gifted Alliance
*Panelists include students from Columbia, University of Washington, USC, Stanford, Louisiana State University, UC-San Diego, Harvard, and University of Chicago.

Robototes: Sammamish High School Robotics Team
Is your child interested in building, programming, or STEM? Then check out the Friday STEM Nights at the Crossroads Community Center, hosted by the Sammamish High School Robotics Team! Lots of fun STEM experiments and activities will be offered, including the opportunity to build miniature Lego robots or even drive the Sammamish competition robot. These events will be taking place from 6:15 to 7:45 on December 6th and 20th, are open to all ages and levels of experience, and have absolutely no cost to attend. Winter Code Club at Enatai

We just opened our on-line registration for the next session of our TechVenture Code Club at Enatai, after school on Fridays, starting on Jan 17th. Students will be creating their own animated stories and games as they learn to code in this class for grades 3-5. We are also giving away a Dash robot on Dec 13th. Bellevue Boys Lacrosse Club
Our Spring Season and runs February – May (March-May for K-2nd graders and High School). Youth teams practice one to three days per week depending on age with games on Saturdays. High school practices 5 days a week with games on weeknights and occasional weekends.  It’s never too late to give lacrosse a try if your son is curious about the game!

In the last 10 years the BHS Varsity team has played in the state championship 9 times and won the state title 7 times. Visit our alumni page to see where our athletes are playing in college. For more information about our programs click here.
