Students explored molecular changes at our Mad Science assembly yesterday. Rockin' Robin demonstrated various molecular changes in matter using fire and dry ice (solid carbon dioxide). A piece of paper caught on fire and disappeared! A magic potion combined with Robin's own energy became too big for its small space and exploded! With the help of some Enatai students dry ice cloud bubbles were created and a balloon inflated as carbon dioxide changed from solid to gas! A hardboiled egg found its way into a small opening with the help of fire, and out again with the help of ice!
We hope the show inspired students to participate in our Science Fair next week, March 7th, 6:00-7:30pm in the Enatai Gym. It will be an evening of interactive science fun including student displays, hands-on experiments, and a family engineering challenge.
