It contains FAQs, a calendar, a sample sponsor letter, a pledge sheet, and a reading log. Toast to Enatai is our biggest fundraiser of the year!  Every year our Enatai parents make this a date night, mom’s night out, or dad’s night out and enjoy a fun evening celebrating and supporting Enatai!  Planning has started for our Gala Event in March 2019 and volunteers and donations are needed!  More information about the event and procurement forms will be sent home next week.  There are five areas where volunteers are needed 1. Get Ready! Spring Fundraising Gala "Toast of Enatai"
Toast of Enatai is Enatai Elementary PTSA’s main fundraising event which will be happening in the spring.   We are starting to procure silent and live auction items for the event.  The funds will be used to provide math and reading aides, curriculum enhancement like field trips and activities, financial support for the library, and other academic programs like Passport Club, Science Fair, and Multicultural night.  More details to come on this fun event so don’t miss out!  In the meantime, we are looking for specific auction items: - Weekend usage of a vacation home or timeshare (i.e. Lake Chelan, ... read full article

School Food Share launches at Enatai!
This week parents, students and teachers came together to launch the School Food Share program at Enatai!  This is a program to recover uneaten food from the school cafeteria and distribute it to a local food bank. All students are always encouraged first to eat as much as they'd like and then donate anything that is leftover and unopened like unopened milk, yogurts, applesauce, string cheese etc. In the past, these unused items were put in the trash and became landfill. A Message from our PTSA Membership Chair: Thank you so much for your terrific response to our Early Registration Membership drive!  The Fall Eaglewear order containing our gift t-shirts has been submitted and will be coming to classrooms in late October.  If you submitted your membership fee by 9/21 but did not submit a youth T-shirt size you will have another opportunity when we order Eaglewear again in Winter. Kindergarten Field Trip!
The kindergarteners went on a fun field trip last week to see "The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show" at the Seattle Children's Theatre!  The play features four beloved stories by the writer and illustrator Eric Carle performed onstage by very large puppets. Even in just the third week of school, all of the kindergarten teachers commended their wonderful students for great behavior and practicing their listening skills in what was for some, their very first field trip! Backpack Meals: Looking for Delivery Drivers
Backpack Meals for Kids  is a non-profit organization that works with the Bellevue School District to provide free, easy-to-make meals each  Friday  for students that may not otherwise have food to eat over the weekend. WANTED:  Enatai Community members to translate documents!   In an effort to reach as many families as possible, the Multicultural Committee, who runs Multicultural Week and International Taste of Enatai Family Night Event , would like to be able to translate posters, flyers, and emails written in English into every language used by Enatai Elementary families.     Yes, there is Google translate, but nothing is better than a real person!   Can you donate your time and knowledge?   The following languages have the highest student representation, besides English:  Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), and Russian.  We would love to have translators for these ... read full article

Thanks to the many volunteers, parents, teachers, staff, and students who helped make our Fall Scholastic Book Fair a BIG success!   We sold $10,046 in books.  Enatai's book fair makes 55% back in Scholastic dollars. With some of our scholastic dollars,  Enatai PTSA was able to purchase: - Scholastic News (weekly subscription) for ALL students K-5   - Storyworks for all students in Grade 5 - $515 worth of books for student that may not have otherwise been able to purchase a book at the fair - $3570 of new books from the teacher's wish list book pile   ... read full article
