Together Eagles Help End Summer Hunger!
THANK YOU to all the students, teachers, staff and Enatai community who helped support the Hopelink End Summer Hunger coin drive.    This year with the help of our student co-chair Olivier Watson-Lamb, Enatai students raised an VERY impressive  $2895.18. Event Wrap Up: Carnival
THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING CARNIVAL! Despite cloudy skies and wet weather, Enatai familes enjoyed one of our favorite end of the year community events: Carnival!  Families played unlimited games, dunked our brave Enatai staff members at the Dunk Booth, viewed the Bellevue Police armored SWAT car, enjoyed the magic of G.G. Enatai's 3rd Graders see "Frindle!"
Enatai's 3rd graders took a field trip to Everett's Civic Auditorium on Monday to watch Village Theatre's production of Frindle. Many have read the book the play is based on because it is included in the Third Grade Sasquatch Reading Challenge. The students were well behaved and respectful and a fun time was had by all. What is Toast to Enatai and why should I attend?
The Toast to Enatai is a "Parents Night Out" party fundraiser and is the biggest PTSA fundraiser of the year to help achieve our $100,000 goal by June. We use the funds raised to pay for important items like: -  Reading & Math instructional aides  ($60,000) to help extend and support students in Reading and Math -  Curriculum Enhancement  ($25,000) which includes Field Trips, assemblies, special guest speakers, and more. -  The YMCA Recess program  ($12,000), which has been an incredible help keeping kids engaged (and therefore out of trouble) at lunch recess. -  Library books  ($5,000) to help our ... read full article

Thank you to all those students and teachers that participated in the BoxTop Grade Level Contest.  We had 100% class participation!  We collected  2155  box tops which equals  $215.50 to spend on recess equipment.    Second runner up : 1st Grade collected 334 First runner up : 2nd Grade collected 502 * Winner of the grade level contest with 561 collected.......5th Grade!!!!  Way to go, 5th Graders! Enatai Variety Show is Coming Soon!

 The Crayola company has created a program to collect used markers for recycling.  This would be a great project for students to take on to help their school and the environment.  I have a willing fifth grader, but  need one fourth grader and one third grader  who would be willing to come to school at  7:30 AM  a few days between now and the end of the year to: 1. The  Art of Discovery Project  will be heading to Enatai  June 5 , 7, and 8 !   This long standing Puget Sound area program brings original artwork to students in their schools giving them an opportunity to experience art up close and discuss them with their classmates.  This years theme is Animals in Art and consist of pieces by local artists such as William Cumming, Carolyn Krieg, Linda Okazaki , Phillip Levine, Rick Bartow, Lawrence Beck, and Helmi Juvonen. Mark your calendar so you don’t miss Movie Night, which returns to Enatai Elementary Friday, October 6, 6:00-8:00 p.m. with  DisneyNature’s  Born in China  (2017) .  Movie Night has a long community tradition at Enatai, dating back to at least the 1970s. Thanks to the many volunteers, parents, teachers, staff, and students who helped make our Fall Scholastic  Book   Fair  our most successful  book   fair  on record!  We sold $12,100 in books.  With some of our scholastic dollars,  Enatai PTSA was able to purchased $150 of new books for each classroom  from the teacher's wish list  book  pile.  The ALL FOR BOOKS coin box collected $53 for books in the Nurse's office! The Wednesday after school ski bus is back!  Snow Sports Consulting Service is once again offering students in  1st through 5th grade  the chance to take lessons at  Summit Central Ski Area .  The bus loads at Enatai Elementary at  12:15pm  and returns at approximately  5:15pm  in the evening. The annual Sasquatch Reading Challenge  asks Third Graders to read books on their Sasquatch "Bingo Board" drawn from a wide variety of authors, genres, and types.   This fun challenge gets students to read, think, and talk about books.  In total, 25 books make up the complete board.  The following students completed a Bingo "Blackout" and read all 25 books (or more) and attended the Blackout Party!
