Staff Appreciation Week starts Monday!

Staff Appreciation Week is next week and while we have had a terrific response to our requests for volunteers and donations some special days still need help!

Monday, April 30 - Flower Bouquets
Parent helpers are needed between 7:40-8:40am to collect flowers from students and meet in the STEM room (bring scissors). We also need donated vases which can be dropped off at school (see donation box in the office) anytime prior to the event.  We need more volunteers to help collect flowers and arrange them for our staff members!  Sign up here: Staff Appreciation Flowers

Wednesday, May 2 - Staff Appreciation Lunch
This is our big staff appreciation event of the year! The lunch location has been changed from the Library to the STEM ROOM from 1-2pm.  Room parents will help coordinate the table settings and decorations by grade level (look for more information from your room parent).  A few volunteers are still needed! Sign up here:  Staff Appreciation Lunch

Friday, May 4 - Coffee Bar
Espresso Elegance will be making coffee drinks for staff in the STEM room from 7:00-800AM.  This day is fully staffed and provisioned: thank you for your generosity!

Please contact Jennifer Berry at jenncberry@gmail.com with any questions.

Trauma Informed Care & Restorative Practices

How do we help our kids deal with the stress of modern challenges—from the isolation of social media and the impact of national tragedies, to racism, personal trauma, and more? Join Bellevue Schools Foundation and CJ Ellsworth of Sea Mar Community Health Center for a discussion of what we can do as parents and community members who care about our youth.

OR
Saturday, June 2nd, 10-11:30 a.m.  (light refreshments provided, childcare available)
Highland Middle School, 15027 Bel-Red Rd, Bellevue

Parents and community members who attend this event will learn about ways to better support children through our current challenging times, and how to reduce their stress by teaching their caregivers and support systems tools to help them through these issues.  This event is free and open to the public; please register at this link.

CJ Ellsworth, MA, LMFT, CMHS will lead the information session and discussion; Mrs. Ellsworth is a Program Manager and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist & Supervisor, in Child & Family Behavioral Health program at Sea Mar Community Health Center. This session is funded by King County’s Best Starts for Kids grant.
