The Crayola company has created a program to collect used markers for recycling. This would be a great project for students to take on to help their school and the environment. I have a willing fifth grader, but need one fourth grader and one third grader who would be willing to come to school at 7:30 AM a few days between now and the end of the year to:
1. Devise & implement an advertising plan for the program
2. Deliver manila envelopes to two pods of classrooms
3. Periodically empty folders into a marker box in the PTSA workroom
4. Help mail box to Crayola.
If that sounds like something your student would be willing to do please email Kerry Hill.
The Art of Discovery Project will be heading to Enatai June 5, 7, and 8!
This long standing Puget Sound area program brings original artwork to students in their schools giving them an opportunity to experience art up close and discuss them with their classmates. This years theme is Animals in Art and consist of pieces by local artists such as William Cumming, Carolyn Krieg, Linda Okazaki , Phillip Levine, Rick Bartow, Lawrence Beck, and Helmi Juvonen.
In order make this a successful event we need your help to lead groups of approximately 6 students through the Art of Discovery exhibit over a 2 or 3 hour time span. If you are interested please go to our signup page for more information here. Our art teacher, Ms. Davidson, will also hold a brief training session which you can sign up for here.
Please let Ms. Davidson (davidsonje@bsd405.org) or Cheryl Lo (enataiartdocent@gmail.com) know if you have any questions about this event.
The Bellevue School District Artshow will be displaying work from district schools, K-12, at Crossroads Mall. Artwork from Enatai students can be seen from May 17th-29th, featuring mostly Third Grade work. Take your family to see what Enatai students have done and what kind of work they will do in the future!
