About 16% of Enatai Elementary's student population receives free or reduced-price lunches. During the summer time the loss of school meals causes challenges for these families. Part of the Hopelink End Summer Hunger programfocus is on kids helping kids through classroom coin drives. This is a great way to show that Enatai students can make a difference when their spare change is added together.
During the week of June 4th-8th, students will be collecting coins in their classrooms. Please help encourage your student(s) to bring coins in to contribute to their classroom collection. Our Enatai community can also help our students NOW with online donations. Please share our Enatai Elementary student page with your friends and family. Together our students and generous community can ensure kids have enough to eat during the summer. Let's see if our students can smash the record of $2077 to help End Summer Hunger! Thanks for your support!

Save The Date for one of the most exciting nights of the year - the Enatai Carnival, coming June 8, from 6-8pm!
Thank you, Jesse Pacem and Joe Harris for stepping forward to chair this much anticipated event, and the Enatai PTSA, for funding this unique opportunity. Keep your eyes peeled for details - Online ticket and wristband ordering coming soon!!
Last week, Enatai's 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders had a great visit with Washington State author Dan Gemeinhart! Mr. Gemeinhart is the author of 2018 Sasquatch Book Award Nominee The Honest Truth, which many Enatai students have read and voted on this year, as well as three other books for middle grades. Mr. Gemeinhart talked about his background and his favorite books growing up, and students got to ask him lots of questions about details in his books.
Thank you to the Bellevue Schools Foundation and the Enatai PTSA who made this author visit possible!
The Art of Discovery Project will be heading to Enatai June 5, 7, and 8!
To make this a successful event we need your help to lead groups of students through the Art of Discovery exhibit. If you are interested please go to our signup page for more information here. Volunteers sign up to help specific classes: two classes are paired together in one time slot. See the signup page for when YOUR class needs help! Our art teacher, Ms. Davidson, will also hold a brief training session on May 31, 2:45 - 3:25pm which you can sign up for here.

JOIN THE TIGERSHARKS SWIM TEAM!
There is still time to join the Triangle Tigersharks Swim Team. Practices started this week and have been going swimmingly! The kids are having a great time learning new skills, honing old ones, and making friends with their team-mates.
We have both year-round swimmers and "just in the summer" swimmers on the team. Kids do not have to be fast racing swimmers to join the Tigersharks, but by the end of the summer, the improvement is phenomenal! The Tigershark Swim Team is a positive, relaxed, supportive environment where kids are encouraged to "beat their own best time" and HAVE FUN. Time Trials & Pancake Breakfast are June 9, so don't delay signing up! We hope you'll join our team! Questions? Contact Team Coordinators, Aletha Howes or Leslie Howard.
