General Membership Mtg 6/13: Officer Elections + 2018-19 Budget

PTSA General Membership Meeting
When: Wednesday, June 13th 6:30-8:00pm
Where: Enatai Elementary Library
Who:  All Enatai PTSA members are requested to attend!

In the final PTSA General Membership Meeting of the school year, we will vote for next year's PTSA Officers and Budget.  These are two of the most important votes of the year, determining your PTSA's leadership and what programs will receive the most financial support next year.  PTSA members may access this meeting's Agenda on the new PTSA meetings webpage.

Election
The Nominating Committee has nominated the following candidates for board positions:
President:  Pam Unger     Vice President: Jesse Pacem
Secretary: Jennifer Strophy     Treasurer: -open-
Additional nominations may be made from the floor during the meeting. Any elected position may be held jointly by two people (e.g. Co-Treasurers).  We're building a healthy momentum of support for our school community and administration. To continue this momentum we need these officer positions filled! If you are interested in serving as an elected officer or appointed director of the board, please email vicepresident@enataiptsa.org.

Budget
Current President Amy Hart has presented several information sessions regarding the PTSA Budget, its current state, and how members may use it to effect change in the upcoming year.  Voting to accept next year's budget will be conducted at this June 13th General Membership meeting.  Enatai PTSA members may view the current year's budget at the new PTSA Meetings page for background research.  Have a specific budget request to present to the Board?  Email secretary@enataiptsa.org to add your motion onto the meeting's agenda.

New webpage for PTSA meeting information

New to our Website:  The PTSA Meeting page is now available! Here, the schedule of the current school year's PTSA meetings will be displayed along with information on how to attend and participate.  Enatai PTSA members will also be able to read meeting agendas and minutes and access the most up-to-date PTSA budget report.  Do you know what the PTSA is doing for you? Use this page as your resource to learn the issues being discussed and how you can join the conversation.

Second Grade Community Field Trip

Our 2nd grade students are just finishing up their social studies unit on Communities.  This year, students got a first hand chance to explore Bellevue Square Mall and Lincoln Square businesses and see how they are helping our community.

At The Studios the students learned how Kemper Development built Bellevue Square and how it has changed and grown over the years.  The Container Store discussed the importance of being organized. Students practiced their own organization skills while pretending to shop and find items in the store that might help them be more organized.  At the Microsoft Store students learned about the company and the different programs they offer to help community education.  The kids also got hands on time to experience some of their products.  At the Eddie Bauer Store students learned about Eddie Bauer's test products, the company's goals in promoting getting outdoors, and how they give back.

A special thanks to these businesses for allowing all four classrooms to visit! Students wrapped up their day with lunch at Downtown Bellevue Park and playing on the Inspiration Playground.

Thank you for supporting the Enatai PTSA so field trips like this can happen!

Third Grade completes Sasquatch Reading Challenge!
