We are thankful that Enatai is blessed with so many special people making up its community!
We are thankful for our school for having so many kind, caring, and thoughtful Teachers, Administration, and Support Staff to care for our children. We are thankful for the families of Enatai for sharing these wonderful years of your children's lives with us. We are thankful for our students as our inspirations and hope for the future.
Thank you, Enatai!
Our magnificent 5th grader crossing guards were recently commended by the head of law enforcement for the City of Bellevue, Police Chief Steve Mylett. Chief Mylett was a guest at the recent Veteran’s Day assembly, and he met with our crossing guards at the conclusion of the event. He told them they had an essential job in our community to help keep the citizens of Bellevue safe, and that he appreciated their service.
Not only do our crossing guards help everyone at crosswalks, they are also the go-to people when the staff seeks responsible older students to take on leadership roles. At the Veteran’s Day assembly, crossing guards were excused from class to greet arriving guests in the main office, and to escort them to their seats.
These 5th grade volunteers display their dedication every day. Under the guidance of adult staff, crossing guards arrive early in the morning before everyone else, and they stay until most people have gone home. Remember to obey and respect our crossing guards when you see them on duty!
Each month, Enatai Principal Amy MacDonald and PTSA President Amy Hart host a meeting where rotating topics are discussed and parents can ask questions. The November Principal & PTSA Coffee Hour focused on how Enatai is prepared to handle natural disasters (such as an earthquake) or an emergency event. Did you know Enatai has a supply closet stocked with enough supplies to assist our entire student body and staff for three days?
Thanks to fundraisers like the Read-A-Thon, our PTSA was able to help provide funds to purchase necessary supplies for this closet. There are essentials such as food, water, two-way radios, blankets, first-aid kits, toilet paper, and much more.
The next Principal & PTSA Coffee Hour will be on Thursday, December 20th at 8am in the STEM Room.
New entries are below. Find the full list of Community Corner offerings on our website.
Eastside Heritage Center to Host "Old School Enatai: The Inside Story"
Eastside Heritage Center (EHC), the region’s leading historical society, will host a presentation of “Old School Enatai: The Inside Story,” given by Enatai parent Sharon Pang. The free event, scheduled for Saturday, December 8, 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., will be held at EHC headquarters, 11660 Main St. in Bellevue. It will be open to the public. The show features a plethora of pictures and compelling details about how our school came into being with the help of community-spirited Enatai residents.
Pang began research for the slide show over two years ago at EHC, which maintains a vast collection of documents and artifacts about Eastside history. She said the event site is especially fitting because it was there where she unearthed in its files the first historical facts about early Enatai. Previously, Pang has shown versions of “Old School Enatai” at school events, and to various classrooms when requested by teachers.
A goal of EHC is to promote appreciation for area history through educational programming and community engagement. Click here for further details.
