Enatai PTSA General Membership Meeting - May 1st

PTSA General Membership Meeting
When: Wednesday, May 1st 6:30-8:00pm
Where: Enatai Elementary Library
Who:  All Enatai PTSA members are requested to attend!

Enatai parents! The officers of your current PTSA board have already served two-year terms and are not permitted by National PTA rules to continue their roles beyond June 30th, 2019.  This means that we need YOU to volunteer to join the board and help carry forward the business of the Enatai PTSA, which includes allocating the funds you have generously contributed this year.  Nominations will be presented, as well as taken from the floor, at our next General Membership Meeting on Wednesday May 1st at 6:30pm in the Enatai Library.  At minimum, we must fill the roles of President, Treasurer, and Secretary for the 2019-20 school year. Here are the definitions of those role responsibilities.  Please consider nominating yourself and coming to the meeting to vote! All of these positions can be held by a pair if you'd like to work with a friend.

Staff Appreciation Week   May 6-10, 2019

Staff appreciation week is our last large event to acknowledge the efforts of our Enatai teachers and staff members.  We are hoping for many volunteers from ALL GRADES to make these events successful.  Please note that we have scheduled 2 days, Tuesday and Thursday, when parent volunteers are not needed at the school.

To sign up, click on the links below

Monday, May 6th – flower bouquets
Students bring cut flowers to school and volunteers will arrange floral bouquets for the Enatai entire staff!

Tuesday, May 7th – candy buffet
The staff will receive bags to choose their favorites treats from a candy buffet. Monetary donation needed.

Wednesday, May 8th – catered lunch
Nibanna Thai will cater lunch. Volunteers to set/clean up, and to bring dessert and beverages needed.

Thursday, May 9th – thank you notes
Each staff member will receive a special package with notes from our children.  We need these notes in advance to sort and package prior to delivery on Thursday.  All students are encouraged to write a note of gratitude to their teachers and any additional staff members they would like.  (Staff List click here)  Please write the staff member’s full name on the envelope.  For example, write Mrs. Westmoreland, not Mrs. W. Please drop off the notes in the large red Staff Appreciation Mailbox located across the music room starting on Thursday, April 25th.  The last drop off date is Monday, May 6th.

Friday, May 10th – coffee and breakfast pastries
Volunteers will make lattes and offer breakfast pastries. Volunteers and Nepresso machines to borrow needed from 8:30-11am!

PTSA Awards Nominations 2019

Every year, the Enatai PTSA recognizes and celebrates a few of the wonderful people who help to make our vibrant school community great by giving out The Golden Acorn Award, The Outstanding Educator Award, and new this year, The Unsung Hero award.

We would love to have your help in the nominating process. Do you know a special person who goes above and beyond, or even one who quietly supports our community without much fanfare? Do you know someone else whose efforts deserve special recognition this year? We'd love to hear about them! Please take a moment to fill out this anonymous nomination form. This survey will close on May 17th and the awards will be announced at the Carnival on June 14th.

4th Grade Parent Meeting: Planning for 5th Grade

Attention 4th Grade Parents! Is your student returning to Enatai next year for 5th Grade?  Fifth Grade is a special time for students at Enatai.  As the oldest students at the school, 5th Graders can look forward to their own special activities and events.   Many of these activities are exclusive to 5th Grade or are the responsibility of the 5th Grade families!

The first of these is the 5th Grade Haunted House fundraiser.  This event is designed, built, and staffed by the 5th grade parents and students to raise funds for 5th grade's use.  In conjunction with Spooky Spaghetti, this event is the first BIG community event of the year!  Planning starts as soon as school begins or earlier and it is the 5th Grade's responsibility to take on this task!  Come hear a proposal for next year and bring your own ideas to the table!  Other events we will briefly discuss are 5th Grade Sweatshirts, our Carnival booth, fulfilling Yearbook needs for the special 5th Grade section, and other activities reliant on the families in our grade.

This meeting is presented by some of your fellow 4th Grade Parents with help from the 5th Grade Teachers, PTSA, and past and current 5th Grade Parents.  Let's prepare for next year!
