The Toast is Enatai Elementary largest fundraiser of the year. It's a fabulous party for parents and friends to celebrate the school, eat great food, dance and support our Enatai PTSA. It's the party of the year and you don't want to miss it!

The Toast is a "Parents Night Out" to build community while helping achieve our $100,000 fundraising goal by June. We use the funds raised to pay for important items like:

  • Reading & math instructional aides ($52,000) to help extend and support students in reading and math.
  • Curriculum enhancement ($30,000) which includes field trips, assemblies, special guest speakers and more.
  • Grade-level grants ($20,000) to support culturally responsive books and BSF grant matching and more.
  • Academic Programs & Community events ($9,300) like passport club, academic adventure, science fair, multicultural week, fall festival, carnival, movie nights and field day.
  • Staff appreciation ($3,000) to celebrate our teachers and extended staff during the school year.

At the Totally 80’s Toast, you will have opportunities to sign up to attend parent hosted parties like the 6th Annual Minute to Win It…a Toast favorite! Ladies' Bunco Night and Bunco in Beaux Arts. We will also have Teacher Experiences for your child like Teacher of The Day, as well as never before seen experiences which will all be revealed on March 7th!

There will also be a live auction featuring an array of items including; grade level artwork, “Name the Playground," “Principal for the Day,” Seahawks tickets and vacation packages!

Each admission ticket includes wine, beer, delicious nosh (catered by The Catering Company) and of course dancing! 80’s attire would be super rad!

Each ticket price is offered at cost and is therefore not tax-deductible. All donations made at the event are tax-deductible. Ticket prices are: $55 for a single Toast ticket and the option to purchase single $55 teacher gift ticket(s).

Enatai PTSA Presenting Screenagers Documentary at Chinook 2/6

Don’t let the movie title, Screenagers, mislead you. This documentary is not just for parents of teenagers who use screens. Children at much younger ages are being handed screens. The latest study shows the average child receives their first smartphone at 10.3 years old. By age 12, 50% of children have their own social media accounts.

Enatai Elementary PTSA invites you to a special screening of the new documentary, Screenagers: NEXT CHAPTER (2019) on Thursday, February 6th at 5:15 p.m. The screening will be held in the Chinook Middle School Commons.  Note: Filmmakers shot many scenes of this movie in Seattle.

Come examine the latest parenting concerns relating to screen usage, and join the discussion which will follow this thought-provoking film. Special guest speaker will be media expert and noted pediatrician Dr. Don Shifrin, seen weekly on KING 5 Morning News on KONG-TV.

This new film is a follow-up to the groundbreaking film, Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age (2016), which you may have seen when it was presented by the Enatai PTSA in 2017. The Bellevue Schools Foundation is sponsoring the February 6th screening. The PTSAs of Chinook, and International School will co-host, along with Enatai.

Admission is free and open to the public. Advance registration is requested. Register at https://tinyurl.com/yxywynsx

Traffic Safety Update

This sign means “Handicapped Parking Only.”

Cars must display the proper signage on their vehicle in order to use these spaces in our parking lot.
- Do not park, block or obstruct these spaces in our parking lot at any time, EVER!
- These spaces are strictly for our students and families that are ADA compliant.
- Over the last 2 weeks, 5 families who have needed to park in these reserved spots have been unable to in a timely manner, or at all, due to families dropping of their students and obstructing their ability to park in these locations.
- Use the circle to drop your students or park your car in a non-handicapped location and walk your student into school.
Kindly,
Peggy Cooley
Traffic Safety Chair
