On March 7th, all of Enatai student's attended  The 5th Avenue Theatre production of Northwest Bookshelf. The play was about six students who went to their school library in search of the perfect book to read.  They discovered the library had many books written by authors from the Pacific Northwest.  The performance incorporated music to help the stories come to life.  Northwest Bookshelf also acted out some of the rich history and cultural diversity of the Pacific Northwest.  Ask your student if they recognized any of the books and which one was their favorite?

On March 8th, the third grade students went to see the Pied Piper Production of The One and Only Ivan. Students got a chance to see this wonderful book come to life on the stage.  This book was based on the true story of an unforgettable gorilla at the Tacoma mall.  Here are some links to this story: https://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/article58718318.html and http://belovedivan.org/ivans-story/.

On Wednesday, March 13, Enatai's 2nd graders had a great time with Toymaker Rick Hartman investigating solids, liquids, and gas and making boats that really float (and race!) Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered and to the PTSA for providing the funds for this fun-filled in-school workshop!

Thank you Enatai PTSA and the Curriculum Enhancement team for fully funding and helping to coordinate these activities to enrich what our students are learning in school!
