What is the Enatai Science Fair?
The Science Fair is a school-wide event that allows students to better understand the scientific process by researching a scientific question. Submissions can be made in one of three science categories Enatai Eagles study: Earth/Space, Physical, or Life Science. All Enatai students are welcome to participate!
Each student that registers will receive a trifold display board to showcase during the Science Fair on May 13, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm.
Students are welcome to ask teachers for input on their experiments, but we strongly encourage students to perform as much of the work as possible with minimal adult input.
A panel of judges will evaluate students' submissions and select one winner per grade level, as well as an overall winner in each of the three science categories Enatai Eagles study.
Enatai Students should adhere to the following Science and Engineering Practices as much as possible:
This is the CER (Claim-Evidence-Reasoning) framework that Enatai uses for a scientific explanation:
Claim: The claim answers the question. The claim stands alone. The claim is what you think.
Evidence: The evidence supports the claim. The evidence is relevant, observable, and appropriate. The evidence is what you see.
Reasoning: The reasoning tells why the evidence proves the claim. Your reasoning convinces us you understand the underlying principle. The reasoning is what you know.
Judging Criteria (5 points each) to be used by UW Grad and Undergrad Student Volunteer Judges
Registration is officially closed - thank you to all our Eagle scientists and their supportive grown ups!
Scholarships Are Available:
Scholarships are available on the registration page. Students scholarships include a trifold board and a list of experiments to choose from. The Enatai PTSA will provide the necessary supplies for the selected experiment. If students need adult assistance completing their experiment, please reach out to Gianna Galle via email at sciencefair@enataiptsa.org to arrange for a parent volunteer's help.
