Enatai PTSA Newsletter
September 1, 2017

Current & past newsletters can always be found on our website

Welcome to the 2017-2018 Enatai PTSA Newsletter!

Our newsletter is published on Fridays.  We try really hard to keep it short and sweet, and only give you NEW NEWS and not clog your inbox with repeated information (except these first few weeks when we'll be getting lots of new subscribers - bear with us).  If you miss something, articles are kept on the front page of our website until they are no longer applicable.  We also maintain a newsletter archive, which is kept on our Newsletter 101 Info Page.

Upcoming Events

Our full calendar can always be found on our website.  You can subscribe to our iCal calendar by using these directions.  iCal subscriptions are awesome and we encourage everyone to use them!  All PTSA Events & BSD calendar days are in our calendar, and will be added to YOUR calendar when you subscribe.  You can easily unsubscribe if you decide it's not for you.

Returning families, please take a moment and log into your account at www.enataiptsa.org and update your information for the year.

Also, in order to remain a member in good standing, PTSA memberships must be re-purchased every school year.  PTSA Memberships are now available for purchase.  Simply use this handy link or click the "Join PTSA" link on the left-hand side of our website.   There is more information about the benefits of PTSA Membership in our Membership 101 Info Page.

5th Grade Families - Enatai’s Haunted House Needs You!

Calling all 5th Grade Families! Please help us create an amazing Haunted House with our 5th graders this fall!   This event is a big part of our much-anticipated annual event: Spooky Spaghetti.   Putting on the Haunted House helps the 5th grade class raise money for their end-of-year events.

Add your name to the new sign-up form – we’ll have our first planning meeting in the first two weeks of September. We’ll have lots of jobs available at many time slots between now and late October, from building to painting to set-up and staffing the night of the event. The theme for the Haunted House is the Enatai School of Screams. We hope you'll join us - it's going to be lots of fun! Please sign up and we’ll contact you with more information and job roles.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up 101

If you plan on using the drop-off/pickup lane, please remember:

- Do not get out of your car.  If you need to help your student enter/exit the car, find a spot in the lot or use street parking.
- Have your student enter/exit from the curb side of the car.
- It is ok to pull into/wait in the striped area of the pickup lane, as long as you stay in your car.
- Give hugs, pep talks, and say your long goodbyes in your driveway, before coming to school.
- Walkers & Park Parkers:  Do not jaywalk/cross directly from the park to the school; use the designated crosswalks.

There is more information about pickup and drop-off in our Pick-up/Drop-off 101 article.

Art Reflections Chair Needs Help

3rd grade mom Kathy Green-Wilson has agreed to chair our National Reflections project this year!  Thanks Kathy!   However, she will need help.  Mostly this help consists of collecting/collating art projects and helping with the Art Walk.  If you are willing to help Kathy, please email her.  Thank you!

Still need PTSA President!

We do not have a PTSA President. We do have a strong team in place, but need someone to run our monthly evening board meetings and make sure that the "business of PTSA" is taken care of.  This position can be shared by two people.  Please email communications@enataiptsa.org if you are willing to say yes.

Community Corner

Lacrosse is a fast-paced sport that has grown exponentially over the past decade.  Bellevue Boys Lacrosse Club serves boys in grades K-12 within the Bellevue High School boundary area and we have a fun, development-focused Fall Ball program starting in September. Players practice and play games/scrimmages on Sundays only. This is great time for new players to give lacrosse a try! We think you’ll grow to love the game!  Visit our website at www.bellevuelacrosse.com for more information and to register.

Calling all 5th- 8th grade Girls!  Do you love to play basketball?  Tryouts for Bellevue Girls Select Basketball will be held on September 23rd.  Potential players need to live within the Bellevue High School boundary (but don’t need to attend Bellevue public schools).  For tryout times and locations, and to register, visit the website - www.bgsbc.org

Join Panthers Youth Rugby, this September at Highland Middle School after school.  Panthers Youth Rugby Club offers an academic year round rugby program starting as early as September for students enrolled in elementary and middle schools. Contact the club at info@panthersyouthrugby.com and join us for your first sessions of rugby, free of charge and with no obligation.  Register on our website: http://www.panthersyouthrugby.com  Follow our activities - ads, videos, and photos - on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/panthersyouthrugby  Hope to see numerous elementary and middle school BSD students at the pitch soon!  Discover rugby and join the fastest growing sport in the US!
