Movie Night to Feature Classic Favorite Wizard of Oz

The next Movie Night will be Friday, January 5, 6:00-8:00 p.m. We will be screening a classic: The Wizard of Oz (1939). Rated “G” for general audiences, the film ranks #6 on the American Film Institute's list of "100 Greatest American Films". Mark your calendar now. The date is the first Friday after we return from winter break, and it may sneak up on you if you don't make note of it now. The Wizard of Oz stars Judy Garland as Dorothy, a Kansas farm girl who finds herself stranded in the strange land of Oz. This classic is meant to be seen on a big screen like the one we have in the Multipurpose Room. It features lush cinematography, and one of the most enduring songs of all time, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.

The snack bar will feature fresh hot popcorn! Bring blankets and pillows. Chairs are available, but you may also bring your own. Please keep your folding high-back chairs on the perimeters. This is a family event. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is free, thanks to your donations to PTSA.

Not all movies are for everyone. Check out the review on commonsensemedia.org to determine if The Wizard of Oz is appropriate for your child.

Membership Counts!

We send out 591 newsletters every week, but only 274 of you are Enatai PTSA Members.  If you have not purchased your membership yet this year, it is not too late.  Just click the "Join PTSA" link on the left hand menu of our website or use this handy link.  Not sure if you have purchased a membership this year?  You can go to the My Account section of our website and scroll down to Orders to see your purchases for the year.  If there is no Membership item there, you have not yet purchased your membership.

Membership is $15 for an individual (1 adult), and $20 for a Family (2 adults).  Most of the money we receive is passed on to the Bellevue Council ($1.50 per person) Washington State ($5.75 pp), & National PTA ($2.25 pp).  The big thing they do with that money is advocate for our children in Olympia and Washington D.C.  Joining the Enatai PTSA also gives you voting rights (leadership, budget), and allows you access to our online directory.

You can find out more about membership in our Membership 101 article.

Sorry for the newsletter delay... 'tis the season to be busy.  :)
Congrats to Thuy Wolf, winner of last week's Starbucks Card.
